Debacle in Melbourne was expected
Whatever the frustration, whatever the sadness, the batting collapse at Melbourne was expected and it did not surprise me. It was a good wicket by test standards but exactly the sort of wickets Indians dislike. It was swinging and seaming till the 80th over and no batsman was settled on it. India were never likely to chase a 200+ total and they lost the match on the 3rd morning with that 68 run collapse. Although the Pace trio of Ishant, Zaheer and Yadav bowled excellently the conditions suited them. Rest of the 3 pitches in Adelaide, Sydney and Perth will favor India more because the swing will not last beyond 20 overs. India has a better chance of scoring at these venues but then the bowlers would require helpful overhead conditions to get 20 wickets
