Everyone in India is excited about the four test series in Australia as usual. People feel that this is the weakest Australian side in 20 years and India has the best chance to get a series win this time. The Indian Cricket loving public subconsciously want to erase the harrowing memories of the tour of England where they lost 4-0 in the tests and 5-0 in the one day series.
I agree that this is the best chance for India to win but I am not completely sure on that. Everything depends on the 1st test, how India fares in the 1st test, If they can fight and even salvage a draw, it will be a good start, however if they succumb to the young Australian pace attack, it will be very tough to come back in the series. They might win a few matches here and there but the series win will remain elusive. I would love to be wrong but this is how I see things today.
The Australians are sure to prepare a green bouncy pitch to greet the Indians especially after their debacle against New Zealand. The Indians should not really mind the Green tops but the pace attack has to be first match fit and 2nd conscious of pitching the ball up and getting some swing. Ishant and Zaheer have not had the best of preparations and it will be interesting to see what they have learnt from the previous tours.
